Volunteer Opportunities
We have a strong tradition of volunteering at Minnewashta Elementary. We hope every parent, guardian and family member can find at least one way to help each year. All PTO-sponsored volunteer opportunities will be posted at the link below for you to sign up when available.
Background Check Information
To ensure the safety of our students, the Minnetonka school district requires a one-time background check on the following:
- Any volunteer who accompanies students off campus (i.e., chaperones for field trips).
- Any volunteer who is responsible for working with students on campus (including virtual experiences, such as Tonka Online), but not under the supervision of a licensed teacher.

If a family has trouble covering the fee, the PTO is willing to help reimburse the cost (just email confirmation of your completed background check to minnewashtaelementarypto@gmail.com).
